This self-titled album was the first "proper" release from Clouds Forming Crowns in 2005. Tim Tobias (formerly of the indie pioneers Guided by Voices, and currently a member of Circus Devils with brother Todd Tobias) formed Clouds Forming Crowns in 2004. Tim is the principal songwriter, with help from brother Todd, who also produces the recordings. The Clouds Forming Crowns live unit includes Tim on guitar/ vocals, Scott Pickering (Puff Tube) on drums, Brian Noga (Viva Caramel) on bass, and Nick Cross (Coffinberry) on guitar.
